As Indian cinema celebrates its 100 years, B-town’s ultimate diva, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, showcased Filmfare Awards’ special trophy with a golden base
Every actor of our much celebrated film industry, big or small, craves to hold the black lady in their hands. Such is the desirability quotient of Filmfare Awards, that it can easily seduce the most desirable A-listers, with its irresistible charm.
But as Indian cinema celebrates 100 years of its existence and the pure entertainment it has delivered for 10 memorable decades, B-town’s most gorgeous mommy Aishwarya Rai Bachchan unveiled the specially crafted trophy with a gold base.
Ash uncovered the statue and was later gifted the same. She was honoured with the lady in black without even being nominated for the 58th Idea Filmfare Awards.”I am feeling very special as this is going to be very different. For the first time, I don’t have any nominations because I didn’t have any releases last year because of the special reason of having Aaradhya (Bachchan). Despite having no nominations, I am officially taking home the black lady (Filmfare trophy). I have had the privilege of being nominated throughout my career. When I got the first trophy, I truly felt special. I got it for the film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. I got it at a very early age and it was very prestigious. For me, holding the black lady is equivalent to holding an Oscar,” said the 38-year old star.
Now, getting the most beautiful lady in the world to reveal the beautiful trophy was a good idea indeed, but gifting her the trophy (for what?) was not really an intelligent (read: fair) thing to do. Tell us what do you think, BollywoodLifers?
