Ek Thi Daayan box office report: The horror flick earns Rs 6.24 crores on the opening day

The Emraan Hashmi starrer got off to an average start
Debutant director Kanan Iyer’s horror flick Ek Thi Daayan, produced by Ekta Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj, has got on to an average start. The film earned Rs 6.24 crores on the opening day (Friday) and early predictions say that the film will continue to be steady on the weekend. The Emraan Hashmi, Huma Qureshi, Kalki Koechlin and Konkona Sen Sharma starrer has received average reviews from the critics and a lukewarm response from the audience so far.

The film saw an average response in the morning and noon shows (the occupancy ranged between 40-50%), but the film witnessed improvement in evening and night shows.

Ek Thi Daayan‘s first day collections are quite below par, considering that Emraan Hashmi’s last release Raaz 3 had earned Rs 10. 47 crore on the opening day. Trade prediction is that ETD might continue to do average business and recover its investment.

Ek Thi Daayan box office report: The horror flick earns Rs 6.24 crores on the opening day
