Zila Ghaziabad was canned by critics and audiences alike, and director Anand Kumar was criticised for his amateurish direction. But Anand seems unfazed by it all! He has already started working on his next project.




Titled Meerut Junction, the director is keen on casting Abhishek Bachchan, Anushka Sharma and Huma Qureshi in this film. It will be based in Meerut and will have meaty roles for the two female leads unlike his last flick.

We hear that after watching Anushka’s performance in Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, the director is confident that she can carry off the role of a small town girl. He loved Huma in Gangs Of Wasseypur and is keen to get her on board too. Even though Abhishek-Anushka-Huma make for a unique combination, we wonder if Anand’s wish list will indeed be fulfilled. Especially since Ms Sharma now apparently has international projects like Shekhar Kapur’s Paani and Steven Spielberg’s next in her kitty.

“Yes, I am reaching out to them. They are the best fit for my film,” said Anand. Well, Mr Kumar, you will have to wait and watch if things fall into place, after all!
